In the month of July 2022 the next world cup will begin in Qatar. For fans of Team Mexico many wonder who will be picked for the Mexican squad, especially the hotly contested spot known as ‘guardian of the goal’. Click ‘Read More’ to better understand why this decision is so tough.
The Mexican National Team is without a doubt spoiled when it comes to goalkeepers guarding the three sticks. Great goalies like ‘El Paco Memo” Talavera and “Chuy Corona” guard the Tri colors goal. But in all, Mexico has so many great goalies that it is hard for them to find playing time for each one. This issue has even split up their fan base. ”Maybe Talavera deserves more time playing, he's Mexico’s better goalie in my opinion.” said Emmanuel Ruacho Senior life-long fan of the Mexican National Team.
Pumas C.F man Talavera deserves more time on the spot from his latest performances on goal, but ‘El Paco Memo’ aka the prince of the goal, is very respected as well because of his great performances for Mexico in the most recent world cups. ”He’s doing okay I guess, almost won la copa (the cup) but he's doing okay.” Mr. Ruacho said. “ Pumas C.F still thinks Talavera should be number one instead of him". But nonetheless all of them get along and are taking their rivalry lightly and enjoy the time they spent playing the beautiful game.
And also without exclusion Cota from Club Leon and Jesus Corona from Cruz Azul C.F who are very respected as well but due to the great amount of goalies that are fit to play for Mexico have to bench most of the time or if their stay home and watch the game on TV. But both are fine with whatever helps Mexico win games even if they're not in the plans it’s okay for them. ”I think both were just unlucky enough to play when Ochoa was around as he’s always a great goalie for the country but I respect their services to their Clubs." Mr. Ruacho said.
The Argentinian coach has a big decision in front of him and without a doubt he will pick the best of the best of Mexico’s silver generation set of players to guard El Tri Color’s goal. Who do you think should get the nod? Comment below.
