This year is going to be crazy with big titles like Mortal Kombat 1, Tekken 8 & Street Fighter 6 coming out. Street fighter 6 was the first to release on June 2nd and it made a big splash In the pro scene with old returning characters like Zangief, Cammy, and Ryu plus new ones like Jamie, Marissa, Lily and Luke. It featured a new story mode with your own custom character and a brand new villain named JP.
Mortal Kombat 1 dropped on 9/14/23 and plans to make big waves in the fighting game community. Almost every character from the past games made it into MK 1, but the major selling point is the new plot twist that has Liu Kang as a god who recreated the world for peace but it is still at war. Shang Tsung returns as the main villain of the story .
If you thought those two games were enough, Tekken 8’s trailer dropped on September 11 and got almost 5,000,000 views in one day. It hyped everyone up by showing the fight between father and son, Jin Kazuya and Kazuya Mishima, with demon blood raging through both of them ready to settle the question we’ve had for a while, who would win father or son?
