November 10th and 12th, 2020 were the release days for the XBOX series X and the PS5. These were monumental days that gamers across the whole world had been waiting for. Click ‘Read More’ to better understand what the fuss was all about.

The brand new consoles have already dropped, the Xbox on Nov 10th and the Playstation 5 on Nov 12th. People have been waiting for these consoles for about 7 years and they are finally out. Both of these controllers are very different from each other. “The Xbox doesn’t have any new features in their new controller, it's the same from last year” - said Alexis an Eisenhower student. The only controller that feels like next-gen is the PS5 controller because it has these new features called haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Things like this cause console wars and a lot of people are on two sides of it, one side doesn’t really care about them and the other side is always trying to find the littlest thing to make sure that the console that they like more is the better one. “They are kinda dumb, all they talk about is how the other console is better and its the same thing every time”. Alexis said

The upcoming consoles are going to start getting closer and closer to using the same type of hardware PC’s are using right now. “Kind of but not really because you can still do so much more stuff on a PC”, Alexis said. that is true to because you are limited with what you can do on a console and on a PC you can do anything basically normal web browsing playing games at an enhanced level and you can watch Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, etc, on a PC. Some of those things are capable of doing on a console but when it comes to games and web browsing something really quick, a PC is way better at doing that than a console.

Something that is really exciting to think about is all the games that will be coming out on the new console but both consoles have their own exclusive games that are not allowed to be played on the other console. For example Spider-Man, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are only available on the PS4 and PS5, and are loved by the community, they are not allowed to be played on the Xbox One or the new Xbox Series X or Series S. The thing is that Xbox also has exclusives but you can also play them on a PC, so in my opinion they are not really that exclusive to the console.

Both of these consoles are great and a real gamer can appreciate them. It’s just that a console might have better features than the other. Some people are just going to be loyal to a brand or company no matter what.  For this new console drop which console will you be getting and why?
