5 Fascinating Extracurriculars at Washington High School

Doing activities after school adds new interests into ones school. It gets you excited for the school day to end, not to go home, but to stay after to learn and socialize. Click ‘Read More’ to learn about 5 of Washington’s engaging and fun extracurricular activities.

1. VR Club

Explore the incredible world of Virtual Reality in the VR club, which has recently just started. This extracurricular activity offers a new experience for many. It teaches students how to use VR equipment and learn about simulations. 

2. JROTC Drill

Drill is a voluntary, fun part of Washington’s JROTC. It is for cadets who want to learn how to march. The team goes to drill meets and competes against other JROTCs for trophies.

3. Chess Club

Chess club teaches students how to play chess. Though the target is to just have fun, this group is planning to bring their players to competitions. No matter what level of a chess player you are, new or pro, this club is inclusive.

4. Spanish Club

For all speakers, Spanish club teaches students about culture. Because of their hard work in fundraising, at the end of the year, the members of this club get to go on a trip to Spain.

5. Gaming Club

Gaming is a great way to have fun after school. Adding this club to Washington means students can have a place to play games with their peers. This new club is currently being set up. 

Washington High School is stepping up its variety of extracurriculars. All of these different and interesting additions to WHS are a great way to make friends and meet new people.
